Mei leaves the village of her birth to move to the town. There she makes the acquaintance of Spikey, a member of the local underground. One evening he returns to her house covered with blood and dies, leaving her all of his money. She decides to use this money to go to London where she meets Mr Hunt, a seventy year old who she marries.
