I would like to join the CdT, but I don't live in Morocco. Can I still become a member?
Yes, many of our members have never been to Tangier, but are film lovers or Tangier enthusiasts. The CdT accepts memberships from all over the world. We are grateful and indeed depend upon the support we receive from abroad, and we are always happy to meet new members.

How will I know when my membership needs renewing? And can I renew it online?

If you're not sure whether or not your membership needs renewing, feel free to send us a mail about renewing your subscription. You can also renew your membership by filling out the form in the Members section of the site. If you wish, you can make a request for us to automatically renew your membership for another year when it expires.

Are there any tax advantages in donating to the CdT?
Yes. The CdT is a not-for-profit organization, therefore qualifying you for tax benefits in many countries of the world. If you are a citizen or fiscal resident of U.S.A, you may also donate to us via the 212 Society, a NY society founded to raise funds for charities in Tangier, ensuring that you accrue these tax advantages.
Similarly, citizens and fiscal residents of France may donate via the Société des Amis de le Cinémathque de Tanger to reap the same benefits.
Don't hesitate to contact us if you have a country-specific question about the advantages of donating.

How will my donations be used?

The CdT is currently fundraising for new, up-to-date digital projection equipment, new software licenses, a back-up power system to guard against all-to-frequent fallouts and surges. We also looking for funds to buy a Beta, Digi-Beta and mini DV players and recorders, in order to widen the scope of experimental and documentary films that we can show. We also want to be able to expand our budget to buy copies of films, DVDs and books for our library and film archive.
Gifts from donors and members also go towards ongoing maintenance costs such as cinema rental, and support our Outreach goals of spreading awareness of the CdT's cultural activities within our Tangier community.
