BY WES ANDERSON
The story of “The Isle of Dogs” follows little Atari, 12 years old. Overnight, The corrupt mayor of a dyspotic Japan, decides to exile a pack of sick dogs on a trash island … including Spot, Atari’s dog. Without hesitation, the boy goes in search of the animal. There, he will meet other dogs.
Wes Anderson’s 9th feature film (and second stop motion movie after Fantastic Mister Fox), The Dog Island is a story of anticipation and adventures with political ramifications, which is also, and above all, a tribute to Japanese cinema of the 60s.
